NUS Baba House

Baba House (also referred to as NUS Baba House) is a museum in Singapore, showcasing Peranakan history, architecture and heritage. It is a traditional Peranakan pre-war terrace-house which was formerly owned by the family of a 19th-century shipping tycoon Wee Bin who settled in Singapore, after arriving from the southern Chinese province of Fujian. The Baba House is also an outpost of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Museum and co-managed by the NUS Centre for the Arts.

Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim

When first built, the mosque was referred to as Kampong Telok Blangah Mosque. It was later renamed as the State of Johor Mosque while also referred to as the Telok Blangah Mosque. In 1991, the original mosque was demolished. [2] Construction of the new mosque was completed in 1993 at a cost of RM 2.5 million. It was financed by the Sultan of Johor. The new mosque was named Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim.

Labrador Nature & Coastal Walk

Just a stone’s throw away from homes, busy wharfs, offices and shopping centres, the Labrador Nature & Coastal Walk seamlessly connects the Southern Ridges to Labrador Nature Reserve and the Southern Waterfront. It runs along Alexandra Road from Depot Road to Telok Blangah Road, through the Berlayer Creek mangrove area and skirts the foothills of Bukit Chermin. Providing visitors with a wide variety of habitats to explore – mudflat, mangroves, coastal forest, rocky shore, parkland and Adinandra belukar (a type of secondary forest) – there is a myriad of experiences which will definitely thrill and enrich your senses as you embark on this connected loop.

Fort Pasir Panjang

Fort Pasir Panjang, or Labrador Battery, located at the southern tip of Singapore island, served as a key British coastal fort during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The Fort defended the western passageway into Keppel Harbor against pirates and rival naval powers. During the 1942 Battle of Pasir Panjang, the British used the fort to support the Malay Regiments against the Japanese at Bukit Chandu. In 1995, the Singapore National Heritage Board recognized the site as one of the eleven notable World War II sites in Singapore.

Reflections at Bukit Chandu

Set amidst the lush greenery of Bukit Chandu (Opium Hill), Reflections is a World War II interpretative centre developed and managed by the National Archives of Singapore. Past meets present here as visitors unfold Singapore’s place in World War II history.

Haw Par Villa

Built in 1937, Haw Par Villa is famous for its often gruesome depictions of Chinese folklore’s 18 Courts of Hell. Located on a hill in Pasir Panjang, Haw Par Villa is named after the Burma-born Aw brothers, who created the medical ointment Tiger Balm.
