The Singapore Botanic Gardens created in 1859. It has been an important center for science, research and plant conservation, notably in connection with the cultivation of rubber plantations, in Southeast Asia since 1875. It is located at the fringe of Singapore’s main shopping belt.

National Orchid Garden 国家胡姬园
The National Orchid Garden, located on the highest hill in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, was opened on 20 October 1995 by Singapore’s Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. The National Orchid Garden is a carefully landscaped slope providing a setting for over 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids, with about 600 species and hybrids on display.
Opening hours: 8.30 am to 7 pm daily (last entry at 6pm)
Admission Fee: Adults $5.00, Students $1.00, Senior Citizens (60 years and Above) $1.00, Children (below 12 years) Free
